It's a New Year....


I keep seeing pins and posts that talk of picking a word for the year.  After much prayer and thought, I have decided that FOCUS is my word for 2014.  I need to pair down, cut out distractions, and really start working on my personal goals.  I need to be Focused.  I live my life like a hamster on a wheel that is working hard, but accomplishing little for that energy.  2014 is going to be different.  I am going to stick to my No s and really think about my Yeses.  I am going to pay attention to details, boundaries, and aligning my projects to the will of God.  I can't wait to get started.....


In honor of 1/1....ONE book series that I love.
Have you ever seen this series of books?  It compares two animals to see which has the correct survival instincts, etc to win fights, environmental challenges, and other situations.  It really shows the  uniqueness of all the animal species.  It is a fun series for children as well as adults.  Junior High and Primary age included.  You can usually pick them up inexpensively through school book clubs or online.

Good Morning, I am linking up with  The Simple Woman's Blog  for the weekly Daybook For today... February 9, 2015 Outside my window .... Winter Items I Can't Live Without

  If you have read my blog, like ever, you know winter and I have kind of a tolerate, bordering on really dislike, each other kind of relationship.  If I could have snow without ice and in 50 degree weather, life would be fine for those 4-5 months.  I don't really dislike snow.  But I can't handle being cold.  At All!!   Ok, Rant over, for today, maybe, until it is brought up again....   What can I not live without?   A Warm Coat...my favorite coat is my black puffer coat.  It was super cheap from Sam's eleven (yes, eleven) years ago.  It is the warmest coat ever and luckily has never went out of style.  The zipper is being a little iffy this year and I just might cry if I talk about it too long.  This coat washes and drys so well and does not look like it has been a winter staple for eleven years.  I also have a North Face that I love but if it is below 20, the black coat wins hands down, every time. ...

Friday's Fav Five

Today I am joining it with a new link up for me.  It is hosted by  Living to Tell the Story .   My Friday Fav Five list goes something like this... 1. My three older girls were still up watching television together when I went to bed last night.  My room is right next to the living room so I could hear their conversations.  Although I wasn't ease dropping, I did start to listen.  They were talking about casual and personal things.  I realized that they are all growing up and their conversations with each other are growing as well.  It was like listening to a group of 3 women talking over coffee.  My heart wanted to burst and I may have teared up or actually cried..... maybe. I am so thankful for this wonderful bond they will have with each other for the rest of their lives. 2.  I am just thankful it is Friday.... we have had snow and strep throat at our house this week.  I am ready to shut the books on this we...
