"Resolutions"

So I am not going to write my resolutions here because I feel resolutions are better kept to oneself.  I don't necessarily wish to have someone else's accountability because if they fall through the cracks then I will feel defeated and that is not something I need to sign up for and also sometimes what I think I want actually changes the more I work on it.  Sometimes it evolves into something a little different and my success is measured differently.

I will tell you what areas of my life I try to look at when thinking about my resolutions for the year:

Personal

Career

Financial

Family/Home

I try to have at least 1 if not more for each area.  Some areas have 4-5 but they usually tie together as more of many goals or steps.  I do not have diet goals specifically but I  do always strive to add something health related.  Last year my health goal ended up being following through with a surgery that I have not wanted to have.  It ended up being the best thing for me and my over all health has been much better.  However, the Pandemic really did result in some weight gain for this stressed mama so I do hope some life style changes help improve that over the year.

My progress will hopefully be recorded through the blog more as life improvements, etc.  I probably will not reference them as resolutions.

I do feel it is important to find a time of year when you reflect on where you are and where you want to be in six months or a year.  This self evaluation keeps us moving forward in life and not just stagnant.  We all have areas that could be improved and those improvements help us to be better people.

Daybook....

Good Morning, I am linking up with  The Simple Woman's Blog  for the weekly Daybook For today... February 9, 2015 Outside my window .... Chilly (in the 30's for a high) but no snow.  Most of the snow has melted from the warm temps this weekend. I am thinking ... that I had a great, great weekend with my family. I am thankful. .. that my children view each other as important.  We had to plan Lucy's birthday celebration around Katie's work hours because she just started her new job and can't request time off.  Lucy would have never considered celebrating her birthday without her big sis present. I am wearing. .. my sparkly sweater again.  I must need the sparkles to handle a Monday morning. I am creating ... nothing at the moment, but do have some unfinished projects.  My mind has been exhausted lately and I am just chilling and puttering around. I am praying ... for a family decision that could make a huge difference in our live...

Winter Items I Can't Live Without

If you have read my blog, like ever, you know winter and I have kind of a tolerate, bordering on really dislike, each other kind of relationship.  If I could have snow without ice and in 50 degree weather, life would be fine for those 4-5 months.  I don't really dislike snow.  But I can't handle being cold.  At All!!   Ok, Rant over, for today, maybe, until it is brought up again....   What can I not live without?   A Warm Coat...my favorite coat is my black puffer coat.  It was super cheap from Sam's eleven (yes, eleven) years ago.  It is the warmest coat ever and luckily has never went out of style.  The zipper is being a little iffy this year and I just might cry if I talk about it too long.  This coat washes and drys so well and does not look like it has been a winter staple for eleven years.  I also have a North Face that I love but if it is below 20, the black coat wins hands down, every time. ...

Friday's Fav Five

Today I am joining it with a new link up for me.  It is hosted by  Living to Tell the Story .   My Friday Fav Five list goes something like this... 1. My three older girls were still up watching television together when I went to bed last night.  My room is right next to the living room so I could hear their conversations.  Although I wasn't ease dropping, I did start to listen.  They were talking about casual and personal things.  I realized that they are all growing up and their conversations with each other are growing as well.  It was like listening to a group of 3 women talking over coffee.  My heart wanted to burst and I may have teared up or actually cried..... maybe. I am so thankful for this wonderful bond they will have with each other for the rest of their lives. 2.  I am just thankful it is Friday.... we have had snow and strep throat at our house this week.  I am ready to shut the books on this we...
