Good Morning Tuesday

Today is Tuesday and you know what that means.....

Yeah, me either.  I don't know why but I have always sang that line on Tuesday mornings.  I don't know if it really comes from a song but for some reason it comes to my mind on Tuesdays.  If you know the answer to that crazy question, comment below.

Today it is  60 degrees and feels cold after the past week of over 100 degrees.  Even I got too hot.  That is usually not possible for this cold blooded gal.

Work today consists of paperwork, home visits, and then we have our first cheer practice for the upcoming year.  I have recruited a previous cheerleader to help since we only have one returning girl and an all new squad to teach cheers to.  As busy as cheer season is, because it is a 6-7 month commitment, I do love it and get excited when it begins.

So, I had fallen off the cooking bandwagon, pretty much for a year (maybe more if honest),  and have just gotten my groove back in the past few months.  I watch "whats for dinner" videos on YouTube like crazy and now I actually find myself missing my own suppers when I get too busy outside of the home.  These videos have been great for inspiration because they are regular wives and mothers cooking down to earth meals for their families and ones everyone will eat.  I don't have picky eaters but they do like a normal meal for the most part.  Check them out if you are also in a slump, I will try to attach links to my favorites in a different post.  But if you search What's for Dinner on YouTube, you will probably come up with a good amount to start with and then just start following their suggestions for fellow tubers until you find your own tribe :) I also end up watching a lot of grocery hauls, Rae Dunn hunting, etc because, like blogging, I enjoy people's everyday lives and I find a lot of good items that way that I know work, taste good, look great, etc.

So anyway, it is time to get this day started.  I hope you all have a great one!

Daybook....

Good Morning, I am linking up with  The Simple Woman's Blog  for the weekly Daybook For today... February 9, 2015 Outside my window .... Chilly (in the 30's for a high) but no snow.  Most of the snow has melted from the warm temps this weekend. I am thinking ... that I had a great, great weekend with my family. I am thankful. .. that my children view each other as important.  We had to plan Lucy's birthday celebration around Katie's work hours because she just started her new job and can't request time off.  Lucy would have never considered celebrating her birthday without her big sis present. I am wearing. .. my sparkly sweater again.  I must need the sparkles to handle a Monday morning. I am creating ... nothing at the moment, but do have some unfinished projects.  My mind has been exhausted lately and I am just chilling and puttering around. I am praying ... for a family decision that could make a huge difference in our live...

Friday's Fav Five

Today I am joining it with a new link up for me.  It is hosted by  Living to Tell the Story .   My Friday Fav Five list goes something like this... 1. My three older girls were still up watching television together when I went to bed last night.  My room is right next to the living room so I could hear their conversations.  Although I wasn't ease dropping, I did start to listen.  They were talking about casual and personal things.  I realized that they are all growing up and their conversations with each other are growing as well.  It was like listening to a group of 3 women talking over coffee.  My heart wanted to burst and I may have teared up or actually cried..... maybe. I am so thankful for this wonderful bond they will have with each other for the rest of their lives. 2.  I am just thankful it is Friday.... we have had snow and strep throat at our house this week.  I am ready to shut the books on this we...

Your Favorite Christmas Tradition

We have developed many traditions for our family over the years.  We always open one present on Christmas Eve, we have Grinch Punch on Christmas Eve, we lay out cookies and a beer for Santa (this has been since my childhood), sprinkle oatmeal in the yard for the reindeer, have sparkling grape juice and chocolate eclairs on Christmas morning, and we go see a movie as a family on Christmas afternoon at the movie theater.   Leading up to Christmas we have chocolate advent calendars, have fun with R.J. our Elf on the Shelf, go to the surrounding towns that have light displays on a  snowy evening, attend  the Santa breakfast in town, and enjoy the school's Christmas program.   We have many family dinners and get togethers to attend to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and spend quality time with the ones we love.    My favorite tradition?  Probably leaving cookies and beer for Santa.  I don't know how it started but...
