Show Us Your Cookies or Recipes

This post title for Blogmas made me giggle.... I do know how to cook and I do make many things homemade and very well. However, I am not one of "those"  Christmas Cookie Bakers.  I love that there are many of you out there and I am your Christmas Cookie Eater when I am given the opportunity.

At our house we use the pull apart and bake cookies in the refrigerator section of the grocery.  All kinds, all brands.  I am pretty sure I could say that the chocolate chip ones are the favorite in my family, but when it comes to Christmas, we always make the sugar ones from Pillsbury with a Christmas stamp of some kind on them.

I know, this is probably a mom fail but it works for us.

However, I do like to make the rolo/pretzel candies and I make a really good graham cracker toffee.

But my favorite thing to make for Christmas and New Years is......

Chocolate Chip Cheeseball

1 stick softened butter
1 container whipped cream cheese
 3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract (or more to taste)
2 cups chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients, except chocolate chips, together until well blended.  I use my Kitchen Aid for this.  Lastly add the chocolate chips until mixed well.

Put in a small dish and chill (cheeseball in the fridge, you on the couch)

Serve with Graham Crackers....or just on a spoon lol.

Once you make this, it will be requested again each year.  Be ready to commit for the long haul.....

  2. The cheeseball sounds yummy! And there is no such thing as a mom fail on the baking cookies part....I actually bought bagged cookie dough mix today instead of making cookies from scratch because it just seems so much easier for me this year. :)

  3. Oh that cheeseball sounds so good, I think I might put that on my menu :) And I don't think you're a mom fail at all, I actually like the cookies from the refrigerator section :)

  4. No, I am thinking that this year would be a good year to go with the pull apart and bake kink myself. If things don't slow down, I may skip Christmas all together. (only all the "stuff" because I love meditating on the Lords Birthday)

  5. I bet this is so yummy! And my kiddos have as much fun with the pull apart cookies and the "get in there and mix" cookies. Lol

  6. The Pillsbury Christmas cookies are really good, I also buy them. If I have time and I want to fancy them up, I'll roll the edges in colored sugar. I may have to try the Chocolate Chip Cheeseball, that sounds really good, (I like the chill part, lol).

Friday's Fav Five

Today I am joining it with a new link up for me.  It is hosted by  Living to Tell the Story .   My Friday Fav Five list goes something like this... 1. My three older girls were still up watching television together when I went to bed last night.  My room is right next to the living room so I could hear their conversations.  Although I wasn't ease dropping, I did start to listen.  They were talking about casual and personal things.  I realized that they are all growing up and their conversations with each other are growing as well.  It was like listening to a group of 3 women talking over coffee.  My heart wanted to burst and I may have teared up or actually cried..... maybe. I am so thankful for this wonderful bond they will have with each other for the rest of their lives. 2.  I am just thankful it is Friday.... we have had snow and strep throat at our house this week.  I am ready to shut the books on this we...

Daybook....

Good Morning, I am linking up with  The Simple Woman's Blog  for the weekly Daybook For today... February 9, 2015 Outside my window .... Chilly (in the 30's for a high) but no snow.  Most of the snow has melted from the warm temps this weekend. I am thinking ... that I had a great, great weekend with my family. I am thankful. .. that my children view each other as important.  We had to plan Lucy's birthday celebration around Katie's work hours because she just started her new job and can't request time off.  Lucy would have never considered celebrating her birthday without her big sis present. I am wearing. .. my sparkly sweater again.  I must need the sparkles to handle a Monday morning. I am creating ... nothing at the moment, but do have some unfinished projects.  My mind has been exhausted lately and I am just chilling and puttering around. I am praying ... for a family decision that could make a huge difference in our live...

On the Books for January 5, 2015

Today I am joining up with The Simple Woman to give you a peek into my daybook for this week...   Outside my window.... There is a light dusting of snow.  Nothing too intimidating...yet.   I am thinking... That a salad for lunch sounds good today.  I do not usually like salad so this is a little  weird. I am thankful... That I was able to spend quality time with my people the past week and a half.  I am wearing.... Work attire :( no more sweats until whenever I have to leave the house.   I am creating... I just purchased some new yarn over the weekend.  So I am getting ready to start a new scarf and some boot cuffs.   I am going... To Walmart on lunch.  Yep, back to normal this week.  I am wondering.... How many days until the next holiday :)  I am reading.... Just my devotional this week.  I am doing Jesus Calling again this year and maybe the Women of the Bible devotional as ...
