Summer To Do List

Summer To Do List

Take an updated family picture

Walk at least 4 days a week

Make pillows for my new couch

Each week do one pintrest project

Finish at least 4 books that I have started on my kindle

Relearn one song on the piano

Make an "Oakland Oak" scarf to wear to homecoming this year

Have a beautiful tan by the week of the wedding we are attending in August

The picture will happen....it will, it will.

I have decided that I am not looking at exercise as a lose weight endeavor, but a healthier me endeavor, so I am really trying to get a routine I will stick with.

I have this new sewing machine, the fabric, and now I need to purchase the stuffing and get to work!

The pintrest projects will consist of food, home decor, crafting, or just putting a new outfit together.  I think I can do this and may have a weekly blog about it.

I have so many unfinished books on my kindle right now (lack of time, being tired, and probably a little ADD) that have got to be finished up because it is driving me crazy.

I have not played a song on the piano in about 5 years.  Not that I can play much to begin with, but I did take a years worth of lessons about 8 years ago.  I have decided I want to be able to play something again.

I haven't been making as many scarves lately, but have decided I need a nice black and orange one for the homecoming game this year.  Once an Oak, always an Oak.

I feel the tanning  goal will be an easy one to mark off the list as long as it quits raining every stinkin weekend :)

Daybook....

Good Morning, I am linking up with  The Simple Woman's Blog  for the weekly Daybook For today... February 9, 2015 Outside my window .... Chilly (in the 30's for a high) but no snow.  Most of the snow has melted from the warm temps this weekend. I am thinking ... that I had a great, great weekend with my family. I am thankful. .. that my children view each other as important.  We had to plan Lucy's birthday celebration around Katie's work hours because she just started her new job and can't request time off.  Lucy would have never considered celebrating her birthday without her big sis present. I am wearing. .. my sparkly sweater again.  I must need the sparkles to handle a Monday morning. I am creating ... nothing at the moment, but do have some unfinished projects.  My mind has been exhausted lately and I am just chilling and puttering around. I am praying ... for a family decision that could make a huge difference in our live...

Friday's Fav Five

Today I am joining it with a new link up for me.  It is hosted by  Living to Tell the Story .   My Friday Fav Five list goes something like this... 1. My three older girls were still up watching television together when I went to bed last night.  My room is right next to the living room so I could hear their conversations.  Although I wasn't ease dropping, I did start to listen.  They were talking about casual and personal things.  I realized that they are all growing up and their conversations with each other are growing as well.  It was like listening to a group of 3 women talking over coffee.  My heart wanted to burst and I may have teared up or actually cried..... maybe. I am so thankful for this wonderful bond they will have with each other for the rest of their lives. 2.  I am just thankful it is Friday.... we have had snow and strep throat at our house this week.  I am ready to shut the books on this we...

Your Favorite Christmas Tradition

We have developed many traditions for our family over the years.  We always open one present on Christmas Eve, we have Grinch Punch on Christmas Eve, we lay out cookies and a beer for Santa (this has been since my childhood), sprinkle oatmeal in the yard for the reindeer, have sparkling grape juice and chocolate eclairs on Christmas morning, and we go see a movie as a family on Christmas afternoon at the movie theater.   Leading up to Christmas we have chocolate advent calendars, have fun with R.J. our Elf on the Shelf, go to the surrounding towns that have light displays on a  snowy evening, attend  the Santa breakfast in town, and enjoy the school's Christmas program.   We have many family dinners and get togethers to attend to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and spend quality time with the ones we love.    My favorite tradition?  Probably leaving cookies and beer for Santa.  I don't know how it started but...
