Some Heavy Thinking...

So, I always like to be in the know and since everyone else was watching The Making of a Murderer, I had to as well.  I am not usually a binge watcher but I watched it last night until I fell asleep and today until it was over.  I did not intend to do anything this deep on my day off.

I do not feel like he was a good person who got wrongly accused.  But I do feel like he was not given a fair trial, was very probably framed, and may in fact be innocent of this crime as well.  I feel like his reputation made him the easy choice and the ball was completely dropped on the investigation and then  a lot of back peddling took place.

I know some "bad" people like this man, but that doesn't mean they are the only ones who commit horrendous crimes.  This was not a case of justice being served. That makes me anxious.  We assume that someone's past and character make them the "obvious suspect".  I know a few people with good reputations that have some serious skeletons in their closets and most likely, you do too.

I hope that the outcome of this documentary is that those in the justice system will really take note of how they respond, if they were thorough, and exhaust all resources to make sure the right people are checked out, and locked up if that is the case.  We will always have a flawed system because we are humans.  But humans need to check their own egos and opinions at the door when it comes to their work.  Especially when their work is truly a matter of life or death.

  1. Yeah, I'm very sure this happens quite often. I haven't heard of this documentary. I don't turn on the tube very much any more. Too much going on (tax time). Hubby and I have been to the movies a couple times in recent months/weeks. One very good (Star Wars) and the other TERRIBLE. Had I known who produced it I would NOT have gone to see it.
I hope you had a great day off yesterday! And enjoy your short week! :)

Friday's Fav Five

Today I am joining it with a new link up for me.  It is hosted by  Living to Tell the Story .   My Friday Fav Five list goes something like this... 1. My three older girls were still up watching television together when I went to bed last night.  My room is right next to the living room so I could hear their conversations.  Although I wasn't ease dropping, I did start to listen.  They were talking about casual and personal things.  I realized that they are all growing up and their conversations with each other are growing as well.  It was like listening to a group of 3 women talking over coffee.  My heart wanted to burst and I may have teared up or actually cried..... maybe. I am so thankful for this wonderful bond they will have with each other for the rest of their lives. 2.  I am just thankful it is Friday.... we have had snow and strep throat at our house this week.  I am ready to shut the books on this we...
