Daybook

Today is March 30, 2015

Outside my window is....  sunny and will be in the 60's later today.  Yeah Spring!

I am thinking....that this week is such an amazing week.  Holy Week.

I am thankful....that Jesus died on the cross for me and my sins.  He did this for all of us, Every single one of us.

I am wearing... black pants, a grey sweater, and a scarf.  Not very Spring like, but it is still chilly in the mornings and at my office.

I am going...to one of my favorite family child care homes to read today.

I am wondering....how the weekends go so quickly.  We were crazy busy Saturday and crazy lazy on Sunday after church.  I wish I had one more day to do some chores.

I am learning...  that I have so much peace when I listen to God and his plans.  I had been really trying to do life on my own and not listen.  Even as a bible reading Christian, we can still get out of focus on him.

Around the house...  I am ready to start working outside and am already checking out the garden aisles at Walmart in anticipation.  My deck is my happy place!!

In the kitchen... I made beef and noodles yesterday.  Amazing if I do say so myself.  Sunday comfort food.

A peak into my day... I will be going to work and then to a birthday party this evening for my niece and nephew.  Fun times with family is what life is about :)

Have a wonderful week.  Link up with The Simple Woman and share your daybook as well :)

  1. Yay for spring!!!!! And I love Holy Week! But I find that the enemy really tries to creep in a lot more during this precious time. This world makes it difficult to focus on what we KNOW we should. Just draw close to Him when you feel that happening. That's all we can do! :)
I so know what you mean about an extra day for chores! One isn't enough when you try to keep the Sabbath and not work too much...
Hope you enjoy your party!!!!!!! and Holy Week!

  3. I am so glad spring has sprung in your neck of the woods! Hurray! Send some here! I am very guilty of trying to do what I want and hope that they fit God's plans instead of the other way around. It makes anxiety much worse this way, I can tell you! I am trying to wait now instead of jumping ahead of Him! I hope you had a nice time reading and a nice time at the birthday party! Happy Easter!

  6. Resurrection week has snuck up on me, especially with Sedar the same week. Our church does Sedar every year, but wow, resurrection weekend too. I know it is a lot of things going on, but I love that they coincide.

Daybook....

Good Morning, I am linking up with  The Simple Woman's Blog  for the weekly Daybook For today... February 9, 2015 Outside my window .... Chilly (in the 30's for a high) but no snow.  Most of the snow has melted from the warm temps this weekend. I am thinking ... that I had a great, great weekend with my family. I am thankful. .. that my children view each other as important.  We had to plan Lucy's birthday celebration around Katie's work hours because she just started her new job and can't request time off.  Lucy would have never considered celebrating her birthday without her big sis present. I am wearing. .. my sparkly sweater again.  I must need the sparkles to handle a Monday morning. I am creating ... nothing at the moment, but do have some unfinished projects.  My mind has been exhausted lately and I am just chilling and puttering around. I am praying ... for a family decision that could make a huge difference in our live...

Friday's Fav Five

Today I am joining it with a new link up for me.  It is hosted by  Living to Tell the Story .   My Friday Fav Five list goes something like this... 1. My three older girls were still up watching television together when I went to bed last night.  My room is right next to the living room so I could hear their conversations.  Although I wasn't ease dropping, I did start to listen.  They were talking about casual and personal things.  I realized that they are all growing up and their conversations with each other are growing as well.  It was like listening to a group of 3 women talking over coffee.  My heart wanted to burst and I may have teared up or actually cried..... maybe. I am so thankful for this wonderful bond they will have with each other for the rest of their lives. 2.  I am just thankful it is Friday.... we have had snow and strep throat at our house this week.  I am ready to shut the books on this we...

Your Favorite Christmas Tradition

We have developed many traditions for our family over the years.  We always open one present on Christmas Eve, we have Grinch Punch on Christmas Eve, we lay out cookies and a beer for Santa (this has been since my childhood), sprinkle oatmeal in the yard for the reindeer, have sparkling grape juice and chocolate eclairs on Christmas morning, and we go see a movie as a family on Christmas afternoon at the movie theater.   Leading up to Christmas we have chocolate advent calendars, have fun with R.J. our Elf on the Shelf, go to the surrounding towns that have light displays on a  snowy evening, attend  the Santa breakfast in town, and enjoy the school's Christmas program.   We have many family dinners and get togethers to attend to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and spend quality time with the ones we love.    My favorite tradition?  Probably leaving cookies and beer for Santa.  I don't know how it started but...
