It's That Time of Year

I wouldn't be a true blogger if I didn't post my Starbucks and Boots in the Snow pictures.... I admit this time of year does have that going for it.

I love a nice Holiday Starbucks blend and the Chestnut Praline Latte is pretty amazing.  My next favorite is the Eggnog Latte...yummm.

I also love to wear my boots and my scarfs.  I personally would prefer to wear these in 50-60 degree weather instead of 25 degrees and below....just sayin'

I do like snow.  I don't like to be out in it, like At All, but I love to admire it from the inside of my house through a window while covered in a warm blanket or throw.  Snow on Christmas is a bonus :)

I love the ice covered tree branches and I do agree they sparkle like diamonds.

I love hot drinks (coffee, hot chocolate), soups, and warm cookies.

See, I am not a complete and total Scrooge.  Basically I am just not created for the cold.  Once I am cold, I stay cold and that is just miserable.  I see the beauty of all the seasons, you just won't see me on a snow mobile, or building a snow man, or in a snow ball fight, or building a snow fort.  I will be the one inside at the window, taking some beautiful pictures and making your hot chocolate to enjoy when your play day is done, I may have already eaten all the marshmello fluff that you like it topped with though....sorry :(

Happy Wintering!!

  1. I love all things cold too-especially my warm house! ;). Yes, yes, yes! I find myself at Starbucks so much more when it's cold outside. Mmmmm...the Christmas blend rocks my world. By the way, send snow my way. I live in Houston and it's a rare day if we even see a flurry. :)

Daybook....

Good Morning, I am linking up with  The Simple Woman's Blog  for the weekly Daybook For today... February 9, 2015 Outside my window .... Chilly (in the 30's for a high) but no snow.  Most of the snow has melted from the warm temps this weekend. I am thinking ... that I had a great, great weekend with my family. I am thankful. .. that my children view each other as important.  We had to plan Lucy's birthday celebration around Katie's work hours because she just started her new job and can't request time off.  Lucy would have never considered celebrating her birthday without her big sis present. I am wearing. .. my sparkly sweater again.  I must need the sparkles to handle a Monday morning. I am creating ... nothing at the moment, but do have some unfinished projects.  My mind has been exhausted lately and I am just chilling and puttering around. I am praying ... for a family decision that could make a huge difference in our live...

It's OK

Time for some grumbling, snarkiness, and maybe a little bad attitude... So who came up with flowered scented dish soap?  Someone who drinks perfume?  This is just so gross. Really. Why must the good foods be fattening?  Why is Coca Cola bad for your weight, health, teeth, etc. but so good for your mood?  I would say that it is just me but the fact it is a billion dollar industry would contradict that, just sayin. Why did God not give me the love of cooking to match my love of eating home cooked foods?   Where do all my socks go? Really, my house is not that big. Is it really necessary to get hot sweats at night?  Wouldn't society be better if the menopausal women at least were well rested?  I think I need a snickers, I am definitely in Diva mode today!!

Your Favorite Christmas Tradition

We have developed many traditions for our family over the years.  We always open one present on Christmas Eve, we have Grinch Punch on Christmas Eve, we lay out cookies and a beer for Santa (this has been since my childhood), sprinkle oatmeal in the yard for the reindeer, have sparkling grape juice and chocolate eclairs on Christmas morning, and we go see a movie as a family on Christmas afternoon at the movie theater.   Leading up to Christmas we have chocolate advent calendars, have fun with R.J. our Elf on the Shelf, go to the surrounding towns that have light displays on a  snowy evening, attend  the Santa breakfast in town, and enjoy the school's Christmas program.   We have many family dinners and get togethers to attend to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and spend quality time with the ones we love.    My favorite tradition?  Probably leaving cookies and beer for Santa.  I don't know how it started but...
