This is what is currently going on in my world....

Listening...to Lucy play a game on the other laptop and Madi play a game on my phone.  Is this bad parenting?

Loving...that I got to hear Katie sing in the musical last night.  I love to hear my girls sing!

Thinking...that I wish it could be sunny on a Saturday when I am at home and not at work.  Oh well, soon.

Wanting...to do some shopping today. The fun kind, not groceries.

Needing...to paint the living room.  A job for tomorrow I think.

Summer bucket list...  go to Niagara Falls, make a Pintrest project once a week, learn one song on the piano.

Well, sometimes I think we spend too much time on screens, but then it is Saturday morning, and we are all in the same room.....so that counts as family time :)

Last night was opening night for the musical.  Katie did an amazing job singing and it brings tears to my eyes when I hear her.  Cassie got to help out this year with the lights.  They both are having a great time.  The cast all did an great job.

We have beautiful weather during the week while I am working but our weekends have been rainy.  I am ready to enjoy some time on my deck in my new lounge chair.  Summer is coming, so I will be patient.

I am wanting to go shopping for some new things for the almost done living room.  I am thinking about an ottoman to hold my yarns for knitting.  I also would like to find some pretty fabric and make my own pillows for the sofa.  I have come so far!!

I need to paint the living room trim before the carpet is installed next week.  I am going to save that job for tomorrow afternoon.

Summer bucket list....I actually plan to take the summer easy this year.  I have always wanted to see the Falls, so hopefully when we go out east for the wedding, we can see them.  I would like to make a conscious effort to do more than just pin all the great ideas and recipes I see on Pintrest, so I am making it a weekly goal for the summer.  I have also not touched the piano in years, so I am going to try and relearn some of the basics.  It may be Jesus Loves Me or Wheels on the Bus, but I will be able to play something again by August.

Daybook....

Good Morning, I am linking up with  The Simple Woman's Blog  for the weekly Daybook For today... February 9, 2015 Outside my window .... Chilly (in the 30's for a high) but no snow.  Most of the snow has melted from the warm temps this weekend. I am thinking ... that I had a great, great weekend with my family. I am thankful. .. that my children view each other as important.  We had to plan Lucy's birthday celebration around Katie's work hours because she just started her new job and can't request time off.  Lucy would have never considered celebrating her birthday without her big sis present. I am wearing. .. my sparkly sweater again.  I must need the sparkles to handle a Monday morning. I am creating ... nothing at the moment, but do have some unfinished projects.  My mind has been exhausted lately and I am just chilling and puttering around. I am praying ... for a family decision that could make a huge difference in our live...

Friday's Fav Five

Today I am joining it with a new link up for me.  It is hosted by  Living to Tell the Story .   My Friday Fav Five list goes something like this... 1. My three older girls were still up watching television together when I went to bed last night.  My room is right next to the living room so I could hear their conversations.  Although I wasn't ease dropping, I did start to listen.  They were talking about casual and personal things.  I realized that they are all growing up and their conversations with each other are growing as well.  It was like listening to a group of 3 women talking over coffee.  My heart wanted to burst and I may have teared up or actually cried..... maybe. I am so thankful for this wonderful bond they will have with each other for the rest of their lives. 2.  I am just thankful it is Friday.... we have had snow and strep throat at our house this week.  I am ready to shut the books on this we...

Your Favorite Christmas Tradition

We have developed many traditions for our family over the years.  We always open one present on Christmas Eve, we have Grinch Punch on Christmas Eve, we lay out cookies and a beer for Santa (this has been since my childhood), sprinkle oatmeal in the yard for the reindeer, have sparkling grape juice and chocolate eclairs on Christmas morning, and we go see a movie as a family on Christmas afternoon at the movie theater.   Leading up to Christmas we have chocolate advent calendars, have fun with R.J. our Elf on the Shelf, go to the surrounding towns that have light displays on a  snowy evening, attend  the Santa breakfast in town, and enjoy the school's Christmas program.   We have many family dinners and get togethers to attend to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and spend quality time with the ones we love.    My favorite tradition?  Probably leaving cookies and beer for Santa.  I don't know how it started but...
